Question 1

Cultural studies theorists separate words with capital letters from those without, even when the words in question are not proper nouns, for example, woman vs. Woman. This is done because it is a an example of postmodernism and is shorthand for a ontological viewpoint of postmodernism. The significance of this is that by, for example, changing the first letter of ones last name to lower case rather than uppercase poses the statement of going beyond the critical aspect and embracing multiple identities and the aspect of performance; in a sense ontological meaning " we are postmodernism".
